Soliloquies

by Notion of Distance

/
1.
A Drift 00:38
2.
A Dream 01:24
I dreamt I bloomed from the throat of the world, as it's tongue shifts, so fled the sun. There stands but loss in it's wake. I dreamt I bloomed from the throat the of the world Eyes closed, fist beats against my thigh, why am I so unable to change? Wish blurred vision, curse my blood, curse my name. would you let me rest? In this chest that holds no home? This body fails us
3.
A Womb 02:47
Scar bright, trace this skin against the breeze Arise, go and name it a simple pain: “come home” Won’t you try to change it? Scar bright, bend your back like the solemn swaying reed Anchored still, fear immeasurable Could you try to change it? Visions of your place, scratched and faded. Dying still, to try and change it. Did you swear to make it mean More than you dared to dream? If I break my own heart enough, I swear I feel the slow honeyed womb of change beg me to come home “You were missed, you were so loved”
